Oh, twenty twelve. Oh, new years. Oh, resolutions.

I have mixed feelings on resolutions. On one hand, I think I should make goals all year long and resolutions are overrated and too easily forgotten. On the other hand, I love the idea of a new year and a fresh start and an opportunity to make goals.

The other hand is winning today.

My resolution for this year is simple: I just want to be happy. And I want to be happy now. I think I've forgotten that a lot lately. I've been working hard on a lot of things in my life, but I think I've let myself become careless and lazy. No me gusta. I really love what Dieter F. Uchtdorf has to say about not forgetting to be happy now. I need that in my life. I've always believed that life is too short to not spend it being happy.

So, I resolve to be happy.

And, because I couldn't possibly make a resolution like this without making a list, I proudly present:

Elise's Happy List:
- good music
- trips to the temple
- singing/performing
- taking pretty pictures
- spending time with friends
- cute boys
- my family
- creating
- doodling
- reading
- eating delicious food
- blogging
- hugs
- learning new things
- serving others
- reading my scriptures daily
- praying daily
- popcorn
- strawberry lemonade
- being smart about my money
- splurging on something special every now and then
- dressing up
- life

In 2012, I will not go a single day without being happy. I will choose to be happy, I will do things that make me happy, and I will share that happiness with others.
