Sometimes, life just sucks. And it keeps sucking all the way down to the very bottom where you're making slurpy, bubbly noises with your straw, and there is nothing left to suck. And you're drained, and you're tired, and you know you've still got 3/4s of the movie left to watch and your sprite is all gone.
That's how I felt yesterday. Overwhelmed, drained, and exhausted. And with very little hope of resting/catch up time. I'm behind on everything. I don't know what I'm doing with my life. And the second I'm ready to start my to-do list, I run away to Narnia again. (see: summer camp). I have no phone, no internet service, no nothing. So, I can't deal with anything. It's great.
And thus is the life of Elise.
So, I'm going to be a little MIA this week.
If you get too bored without me, you can go look at all the lovely things I pinned today. Because, kids, that is what I decided to do with my day off.
I've got an amazing little family. They are my absolute everything. I'm so proud of the Husband, and my Little Bear just makes my day so much better.
My guys.
My husband recently received orders to 29 Palms, CA, the middle of the Mojave Desert. Honestly, I really don't like it here, but I'm trying to make the best of it.
It took me a little under 3 months to start making friends, but boy, when I did, we started having some fun.
Don't you love the Cookie Monster glasses I'm wearing?
I've heard that it takes a special kind of person to be a Marine spouse, and it's true. You have to be strong and supportive. I'm not going to lie, though...I'm not always strong or supportive. I'll never get used to the time Husband has to spend in the field or deployed. But when you have friends who are going through the same thing as you, it makes it bearable.
This can apply to "normal" life, too. Find people who like you for you, who won't start pointless drama, and who will always be there to make you smile.
If you have any questions about my life, feel free to ask, either in the comments section below, or visit my blog!
Have an awesome day.
Also, because Lindsey adores you guys so much, she's offering all my readers 15% off at her etsy shop! Use the code ELISEY15
Also, don't ask me how many blog posts I've started that way, because I lost count.
I rocked it up on free slurpee day. We went to Sevs and got our quaint little free slurpees. Then, the woman at the cash register said "go drink those fast and come in and get another one. Your friends are too swear word skinny." And I laughed. Because for some reason it's funny when old people swear.
Then, we downed our slurpees, got a little brain freeze, and went right back in.
Oh, plus also we took pictures of ourselves drinking slurpees seductively.
Have you ever tried slurping seductively?
It's about as difficult as eating popcorn seductively.
I love me some Harry Potter. In light of the new movie coming out (which I actually haven't seen yet) I broke out my bin of HP memorabilia.
K, so I probably could have paid for my college education with all the Harry Potter stuff I collected. Especially when you add in all the books, the movie tickets (because, of course, I saw them all multiple times), the costumes to wear to the midnight movies and book releases, the sound tracks, etc.
Can we please chat about how Lisa's phone number is perma-dry erase markered onto the white board?
Also, how about the 3 Hermione dolls. And the two barbie versions are perma-looking left.
And see those Harrys down in the lower right? Yeah, they're lollipop spinners. Love it.
Poor, broken Ron.
Scabbers & Mrs. Norris
Stuffed Harry and disproportionate Norbert
Creeper, giant-head, doll Harry.
My favie Snape ornament that my mom still refuses to let me defile her tree with.
Oh, and just a little letter I wrote to Madame Rowling, herself.
Which, of course, I never sent.
And, of course, my robes that my sister Ravenclaw-ified.
I'm all about reppin' Gryffindor.
The S.P.E.W. button is mine though.
Aaaand, we won't even mention the fact that my friends and I printed off pages upon pages of rumors about the unreleased books and wrote color-coded commentary on them.
Or the fact that I read the first 5 books more than 13 times. In, like, 3 years.
Or the fact that I was part of an RPG message board website called Hogwarts College and I wrote about how my character, Annalee, attended HC and went to Potions class, COMC, etc.
Okay, actually we could talk about that a little bit. And how awesomely nerdy it was. And how I made some of my favorite real life friends from that place.
This is my casual outfit. You know, gym shorts and a t-shirt. Isn't summer bliss? Also, I really do love chick-fil-a, in case you were wondering.
So, truth or truth. It's like truth or dare, but minus the dare. You guys wanna play? Here's how it works. You can ask me anything. You just have to be willing to answer the same question. This game is totally best for sleepovers, but since we're playing blog style, you're going to have to post your question and your answer as a comment. And then, I'll respond to you either by email or in a post. Or maybe both.

Please admire the whopper of a bruise on my leg.
I have no clue where it came from.
Of course, the exact moment I wanted to take pictures- it rained. Hence my facial expression in the last picture. And, well, the spots on the driveway.
I'm overwhelmed, guys. I love my job, but it keeps me busy to the point that I only have time to blog, email, photograph, and design on the weekends. Which makes for a seriously busy weekend. Also, I like to play. So... add that into my already packed weekend and suddenly I'm doing laundry at 11:00 Sunday night.
I'm also about to graduate and about to move on from a lot of my favorite things. And I have no idea what I'm going to do with my life. I have a couple ideas of types of jobs to apply for, but I don't know if I want to stay in Utah, or if I'd rather go out of state... or out of the country. I just don't know. Actually, I really want to take the easy way out and be a professional student. Take more classes, pay more tuition. I rock at being a student. I don't know if I rock at being a grown up.
I’m standing at a crossroads, not knowing which way to turn, Thinking about the bridges I may have to burn…
One road easy, the other filled with strife, Asking the question, which way to life….
To take the road that everyone expects and that’s how it’s meant to be, Or take the unexpected and live a life that’s truly me!
As I was typing that, I thought, "you know, if anyone said that in real life, you'd be creeped out." Except, that's how the Twilight books are too. Real life Edward would totally be a creeper.
See this girl? Not me, the other one. It's her birthday. So make sure you visit her and send her lots of love. Because she's the best and she totally deserves it.
I love everything about the fourth of July. The food, the picnics, the popsicles, the parades, and most especially the fireworks. My brothers bought a plethora of barely legal (but still legal) fireworks from Wyoming. So, we're having our own fireworks show tonight. It's going to be great.
