catch me

I have a new addiction to this song.

I like the beat, but it's the lyrics that get me thinking.

Falling in love is a romantic concept. Right? Or maybe not so much. Falling is what happens when you trip. Falling, at least in my life, is most often followed by a face plant. Falling is completely on accident, unexpected, and happens all too quickly.

...just like in the movies.

Now, I'm certainly no expert on love. But I like to think that love is something you should do on purpose. With purpose. If all you do is fall in love, won't it be just as easy to fall right back out of love? How do you know it's something that's going to last if you just stumbled into it in the first place.

We're pretty blessed to have the option to decide. We get to decide how we want to act, how we want to feel, what we want to eat, what we want to wear, and who we want to love. Certainly emotions, endorphins, and hormones all play a part. But how much would the world change if we took this advice from Thomas S. Monson?

I say, don't fall unless you want to fall. And make sure the person there to catch you, is the one you want to be falling for.
