fall 2010? bring it.

First day of school picture, only, I had to take it myself. Mom's too far away and my roommates are all in class.

First day of school. My classes don't start until 11:30 MWF and 12:00 T/TH. So, I'm sitting on my cute new bed, rockin' out to J-Beib. [Don't judge. I can't help but like him.] It seems I've found a friend over at nobiggie. I feel pretty good about that.

What else? Well, I moved in, I unpacked, I partied it up with the IWA IC ladies, bought a table from DI, spray painted it to match my room, made pillows to match the table, and spent my last few days of summer reuniting with long lost Logan friends.

My room is coming together. Gimme a little longer and I promise I'll have some good pictures for you.

Happy story really quick before I head to class:
As I was driving up for move in on Friday, I stopped for gas at the Murray CNG station. [It's my fave.] As soon as I put the car in park, two Questar guys had my car hooked up to the pump and started filling it. I made a joke about how cool it was that we had attendants now and they told me they were trying to figure out the bugs and kinks of the new pumps they'd just installed. So, they filled my car and one of the two guys [who was from Logan] told me that I'd get my gas for free because I was an Aggie.
I thought he was kidding, but no! The pump finished it's business and they sent me on my way! I'm pretty sure they were giving everybody free gas while they tested kinks, I don't think it was just because I met an Aggie fan. All the same, free gas. It made my entire day!

So, thanks Questar guys. You rock.

thank you.

Recently, I learned that being grateful every day increases your metabolism. Like, scientifically proven. If it's in Good Housekeeping, it's legit. [Right?]

So, I'm grateful.

And, actually, I'm not just grateful so that I'll have a rockin' metabolism. But I know that I like to be thanked, so I try to thank.

My life is so good. I am so blessed, so loved, so happy.
My Heavenly Father loves me so much. And it is to him that I am most grateful.
He knows what's best for me, and he takes really really good care of me.

I really should just learn to stop "planning my life" and let him guide me 100%.
I adore the gospel. I love the temple.
I will never, in this life, fully understand or appreciate the magnitude of the atonement.

But what I do understand, I love.

So, thank you.

And, thanks to all of you. Cute friends and blog writers.
You inspire me.
Probably more than you could even imagine.

Keep it up.

And,
go thank someone.
Your metabolism will thank you.

sup?

I am discovering teacup piglets. Do I want one? Hecks yes I do. [I mean, who are we kidding. A mini pig? The only thing that would be better is a mini elephant.]

speaking of mini elephants...
Have any of you seen Despicable Me?
I looooooooved it. I've seen it twice now.
And it really does relate to mini elephants. They use a shrink ray to shrink an elephant. It's the cutest darn thing ever. I want one.

Also, I love this place.
De. lic. ious.

I spent the entire day today with my bestest friend, Ashley Elise Foote Ball. [Sandwiched between some time with my buddies Brad & Jeff.] We, Ashley and I, went to Red Mango, Noodles & Co., the Missionary Mall, Joann's, Walmart, Chick fil a, to a movie, and then bowling with B&J.
Soooo glorious. I like her.

I went frisbee golfing with B&J. It was toasty warm outside, but once I got into my groove, I didn't do too shabby. Then we went bowling tonight. Minus the part where I slid [rather gracefully, considering] down the waxy lane, I did pretty good.

What movie did I see, you might ask.
[Or even if you don't care, I'm still gonna tell you.]
I saw Eat, Love, Pray...
Eat, chew, swallow?
Eat, Drive.... Pray?

Eat, Pray, Love. That's it.

Despite my confusion about it's title. I loved it. It was such a great movie. Very through provoking. And, super enthralling at the same time. Though, it wasn't a high-action, forget your cares kind of a movie. I seriously enjoyed it.

and now.
I want to run away to Rome. Or Bali.
I want to photograph the world.
I want to live in a laundromat for 17 days.
I want to own a pocket sized pig.
I want to write a self-help book.
I want to change the world.

Can anyone lend me approximately a bajillion dollars? I think it would help my situation. Plus, then I could really be a professional student. I have a crush on learning.

scattered thoughts

Friday I move to Logan. I am so ridiculously excited to get back up to Cache Valley.

Yesterday, we moved this girl into her new apartment in Logan. (Oh, by the way, she's also my little sister.)

I have amazing plans for this week. With all sorts of friends.
And family.

Yesterday morning, I went to Natalie's funeral. I was so incredibly touched by the spirit. I've said it many times and I'll say it again: she is an amazing girl.

I also got to see some IWA friends/advisors. We chatted about this coming year. I cannot wait. Absolutely cannot wait.

The end of Mill Hollow was bittersweet. As expected. We painted a cabin for a week and a half, went a little crazy, shed a couple tears, we filled my trunk so full that I had to sit on it to get it closed, and we made sure to stop at the legendary Dairy Keen to get pineapple-peppermint milkshakes. [story: we have a manager who is this crazy old man, and we love him. Pineapple and peppermint are his two favorite flavors, he thinks they should mix. He's the only one. Ever.]

I enjoyed some time at the Draper temple, bought two pairs of new shoes, and a fantastic new printer.

brothers = obnoxious
but I still love them...

Church is great. I want to spend 7 hours every day downloading fonts and stalking photography
websites.
My twinner-face, Kustrina, got married.

I have Magic by B.o.B. stuck in my head.

my life is so great.

life and stuff

countdown

1 week of camp left
13 days until Logan
14 days until Karen (and Steve) are back
289 days until my birthday
[not really counting down to that one yet... but still :) ]

also,

I'm stoked to move back into my apartment. You know why?
1st off, I went to breakfast with the lovely ladies I'll be living with and let me tell you, we are going to have the time of our lives.
2nd, through my countless hours of blog-stalking, I've discovered some excellent crafts, DIY projects, and ideas. I've also been brainstorming, and I am THRILLED to be able to use my apartment/bedroom as my creative outlet again. Let the pillow making begin!

After camp, I'm going to have one glorious week of summertime in which I plan on getting in all of my last minute playing in with Salt Lake friends, moving to Hobby Lobby [think they'll let me pull up a sleeping bag on the paper aisle?], and finishing up my summer reading list. [Loving the Butterfly Box books atm, and I'm just about to start on The Hunger Games.]

one last thing, remember Natalie Jolley?
She passed away this morning.
What an incredible girl.
If you didn't read her story before, read it now.
I am grateful for her example.

cool beans

Last week, I discovered limericki. I went to their store and was entranced. Aaaaand, in light of the 25% off sale that they were doing, I bought myself a new swimming suit. =)
[I'd show you a picture, but I'm thinking that will have to wait until I'm not rockin' the knee shorts tan lines. If you look at the site though, I got the Nicki suit.]

Also, the Mill Hollow hoodies came! They're a lighter blue than I expected, but I love 'em just as much as I love the Winnie the Pooh shower curtain you can see in the background.

What else?
well.....
I had a meeting with Racha7el,

Had a blast at my family reunion,

Bought some new silly bands with Jacob,
went to the library,

had a delightful breakfast with my friend, Andrea,

walked to the Oquirrh Mountain temple and chatted with Alicia/Jitter Bug,

made up a new mashed potato game,

became addicted to making fabric flowers,

and had a fabulous facial night.

And this week I did some pretty fantastic things as well.

I danced in the rain with Copper and Finn,

Had a couple glorious tea parties.
(Which, of course, required speaking strictly in British accents)

I channeled my inner gangster with Sparkle and Finn, AND

made a crazy music video

judge

I have a confession.

I judge books by their covers.

It's the truth.

I went to the library on Monday and saw these pretty covers.

I wanted to read them all. I only checked out the last one though.

And then I saw this:

I'm sure it's a great book.
I believe that someone out there really enjoys this book. Perhaps it is great. I will never know, however, because it has a poorly designed cover and I just can't bring myself to read it.

Speaking of books...
I just finished this one last week. I loved it. The author is in my ward. That's how I got hooked on the series. But, let's be honest, it's right up my ally and I hope I would have discovered it anyway. It's just that good. Golden Spiral is book 2 though, so if you read it [hint hint: I think you all should] read Hourglass Door first. : )

importante

This is my friend, Natalie. She is an incredibly amazing girl, and despite the short amount of time I've had to get to know her, I adore her. Natalie has a rare juvenile bone cancer called Ewings Sarcoma.

Read her story here.

Also, as you can see in the picture above, Brooke White is putting on a benefit concert for Natalie. If any of you can go, please do. I'm pretty bummed that I have to work that night and I won't be able to go.

The concert info is found here and you can buy tickets here.

life skills

I need to learn how to write pretty cursive on chalk boards

and do my hair like Penny from "Big Bang Theory"

and learn every last word to this song.
(most especially 4:14-4:33).

I need to take a new interest in Latin dancing as well as table tennis.

Oh, and I need to be cool enough to get on this show

and this show

and I need to invent a time machine.
1- so that I can fast forward to next summer to read the third book in this series. ( I just finished book two this week. 3 words: Ho. Ly. Cow. )
2- so that I can go back to the 1880s and STOP the vending machine from being invented.

Also, I think I should write a book or two.
