Let me tell you a story.
Once upon a time there was a girl and her name was Elise. Elise did not really like math. In her junior year of high school, Elise dropped out of Pre-Calc after the first semester and joined choir instead. (Best move ever).
Fast forward about two years. Elise is at Snow College. She has switched majors 3 times already and it's only the second week of school. She is now a Business Education major with an emphasis in Desktop Publishing and Web Design. In two years she'll graduate with an Associates of Applied Science which waves general courses and only requires one math class. Brilliant.
Fast forward to now. Elise left Snow College earlier than planned. (Another story for another time) She spent a semester at SLCC and transferred up to Utah State. A couple more major changes later, she's a Public Relations Major. She loves it and the only math class she needs is Stats 1040. Only problem, she has to take the math placement test first and score a 45 or higher.
