oh, look a pile of trees!

Life is so good. I'm incredibly happy to be back here in Logan. I adore my roommates and I'm having so much fun being reunited with my friends up here. I'd forgotten how much I really do enjoy school and learning. We also have a new addition to my apartment, his name is Benjamin. He's a very large and very comfortable bean bag. We named him so that when people ask what we're doing we can respond with things like "oh, cuddling with Benny".

So, I'm on a trying new things kick lately.
Numero Uno: In reading my new favorite blog, colormekatie, I learned a neat trick with my camera called putting a black piece of paper with a shape cut out over it. It changes blurry lights into pretty shapes!

Numero Dos: I'm being a more friendly person. Not that I'm not a friendly person to begin with, but I'm doing my best to step out of my comfort zone more to make friends. So far, it's worked out quite well! Hooray for friends!

Side note: as part of the stepping out of the comfort zone thing, I ended up in an easy cheese tower competition on campus at A-day. Don't worry, I won.

Numero Tres: Also up on campus at A-day I won a coupon for a free tan. So Daisy and I decided to experience tanning. I found it quite relaxing and enjoyable!

My roommates are hounding me to stop so we can go to ward stare. Gotta run!

My gorgeous sister

Yesterday, Emily and I went to the International Peace Gardens and took her senior pictures. It was a ton of fun! The Gardens are really pretty and Emily got lots of compliments from passersby.

Today, Ashley Elise Foote-ball and I are going to Jamba with her sister, then we're going to watch the new Hannah Montana Movie on my new LOVE SAC! Does life get any better? I submit that it does not.

Feelin' crafty!

Hello, my name is Elise and I'm hopelessly addicted to re-decorating. It's a harsh truth. I have more bedspreads than anyone could EVER possibly need. I just get these little ideas into my head and have strong desires to re-design my bedroom all the time. Problem? NOT CHEAP.

So this year, my goal has been to re-decorate using things I already have. Last years bedroom: Chocolatey brown, tan, and pale blue. This year's bedroom vision: Re-using the Tan comforter with lime green and deep purple accents. Gosh I love change.

Project #1: these cute baskets. I bought them last year (the light wicker color fit my color scheme, plus they fit quite nicely under my bed.) This year I wanted to get those cute colorful fabric pop-up boxes that Target sells, but I stuck to my goal and bought purple spray paint instead. (Approx. $15 cheaper.) I'm so pleased with how they turned out! I'm going to get some cute lime green ribbed riboon to tie in a bow around atleast one of the baskets. I also have cute green sheets and I'm going to make some purple pillows for the bed- that'll be project numbero dos.

Project #3 will be picture frames. As much as purple is in right now, nobody has cute deep purple frames. I think I'll raid D.I. this week. Try to stop me.

In other news, this past week was my final week at Mill Hollow. I cannot believe it came so quickly! It completely crept up on me. This summer was probably the hardest to say goodbye to. And the previous two summers were rough. I LOVE my new friends I made this summer.

In the hallway of the office up at camp, there are bunches of creative posters hanging with "pictures" of the staff from past years. Some of the posters go back to 1982! (Now, I know that's not that far back. Considering that MH has been around much longer, but 82? I wasn't even concieved then.)

So with a little help from Cupcake and Copper, I created this masterpiece to represent this summer's staff. It's a beaut, isn't it?

Last, but not least-
I move to Logan on friday! I'm not quite ready to let go of summer, but at the same time I am SO ready to be back in good old Cache Valley. Fall is such a fun time too.

All in all, life is good.

Marshmallow?

Accomplishments of la week:
-I learned how to make a pot of coffee. Now, I fully understand that this skill may never come in handy. Ever. But, you never know. And I still feel accomplished.

-The Hostess Bible. It was a MESS. It's 5 pages of instructions for the Mill Hollow Hostesses to do scheduling on the computer. Get this: the copy we were using still had instructions on how to retrieve the file from the flopy disk... Yep. It needed redoing. So Cupcake and I completely retyped it and made it SO much easier to understand. Hostesses of the future will forever praise our names!

-I convinced Pi to propose to Sparkle in the walk-in fridge. It was a beautiful moment and now I feel that this summer is complete. (Every summer I've worked at Mill Hollow there has been a fake engagement.)

-Finished Season 3 of Friends.

-Watched "Top Gun" for the first time ever. I can't decide how much of an accomplishment this actually is, but I hear it's one of those "You have to see it atleast once in your life" kind of movies.

What a week!

This past week at Mill Hollow was theme week. That was a lot of fun. We had everything from Pirates day to the classic 80s day. It was a fun week, we're nearing the end of the summer and we're all going to miss each other a lot.
This picture here is mine and Cricket's "Victory Picture". What for? I'll leave that up to your imagination. :)

This weekend off of MH has been fantastic. I went to a fun bridal shower, spent Saturday and Sunday in Logan. Went on a blind date while I was up there. I got to go to the brand new 66th ward which will be my ward when I move back up there in 3 weeks. Last night I went to an AMAZING fireside with Alex Boye as the speaker. He's such a performer. I was hanging on his every word and by the end of the hour and a half I felt so motivated and uplifted.

Today my Ashley Elise Foote Ball, Jesi, and I went to IKEA. I love that store! I even stayed within my budget. After that, Jesi and I went downtown with my cousin, Ashley (Okay, so I know a LOT of Ashleys.) and we did a really fun photo shoot with her to get some good pictures for her Miss Murray pageant invitations that I'll be designing. We had a lot of fun discovering some new fun places to photograph.

Last, but not least: Tonight I went bowling with some Mill Hollow friends and I bowled a TURKEY!! Yeah! 3 strikes in a row. I ended with a 133, which is not phenomenal, but still made me pretty happy.
